COMMISSION REQUESTS

Thank you so much for your interest in a custom painting! There are a few things to consider while you dream up a special request for yourself or a loved one.

Disclaimer

While I would love to accept every commission that comes my way, there is simply not enough time or mental capacity. I work full-time in a production setting and away from that, I use a large chunk of my off-time to work on my craft and create beautiful things for others AND myself. That being said, I only accept a couple of commissions per month and this will fluctuate throughout the year. Through my website and my Instagram, I will be prudent in informing my followers when my books are open and when they are closed.

Medium

I work with high-quality gouache, a water-based paint much like watercolor but more opaque. This allows me to showcase the beautiful, vibrant colors you see in my work. I also work closely with acrylic paints and digital creations. If you have an idea, let's talk! 

Size and Rate

I typically work in sizes between 5x7 and 22x30. However, I am not restricted to these numbers and am willing to discuss options based on your commission request. 

I charge $35 an hour. This number includes my time spent on the project  (researching and collecting references, acquiring materials, drawing out the image, painting the image), as well as the cost of materials.  What is not included in my hourly rate is shipping costs. This will be an additional charge at the completion of the painting. I require a minimum $75 deposit in order to begin work. The amount of your deposit will depend on the details of the project. This deposit will go towards the final payment of the commissioned piece. 

The time spent on each painting will depend on the size and detail you request. For example, a painting that is 5x7, on average, will take me around 4 hours.

  • Fizzy Lizzy Swampwater Pet Nat

    I had the pleasure of creating this wine label for Lisette Hrappman of Fizzy Lizzy Wines. Lisette is a New Orleanian making wine in the Willamette Valley. Her first cuvée, Swampwater, is named in homage too many summer days and nights spent on porches, bayous and riversides of Southern Louisiana.   • Bouquet

    This painting of a bouquet of flowers was created for Rhiannon Dudley. Rhiannon Dudley is a wonderful graphic designer based out of San Luis Obispo, California.   • Miles Davis

    Commemorating a beloved pup named Miles Davis, this painting was created for Molly Lonborg, owner and winemaker of Little Soul Wines. “Every time I look at a Little Soul Wine, it makes me smile. It fully embodies the beautiful intersection of all the things I love: family, friends, art, and travel.   • Hermit Crab in a Glass Shell

    What a challenge! This painting was super fun and challenged me and my technique. This painting was created for an album cover for the California based musician, Taylor Belmore Collins. Taylor is the singer and songwriter for her band Arthur Watership and plays alongside her bandmates, Adam and Alex Nash.   • Idiot’s Grace 2022 Barbera

    My second label was for Idiot’s Grace wines in Mosier, Oregon. This is a digital painting and illustrates the Barbera grape vine along with the many critters you can find among the vines. “We are a small-production, family-owned organic estate winery located in one of America’s most fascinating appellations, the Columbia Gorge AVA.” www.idiotsgrace.com

  • Hairy Vetch

    An illustration for Tablas Creek Vineyards in Paso Robles, California. These four paintings depict the four main cover crops that Tablas Creek uses throughout their vineyards. “Our estate vineyard has been farmed organically since our inception in 1989, following the model of the Beaucastel estate in Chateauneuf Du Pape. Like Beaucastel, we use no chemical herbicides, pesticides, or fertilizers in the vineyard. Cover crops minimize erosion, host beneficial insects, and return nitrogen to the soil.” www.tablascreek.com

  • 1970 GMC K20

    This fun project was painted for a very dear friend of mine as a Christmas present for her husband. Emelie knows her husbands love for cars, and this GMC in particular, runs deep. It only made sense that she wanted to get it brought to life through a painting as a special gift to him. I also deeply appreciate my customers trust in me to bring something to life that means so much to them.
